District Ranger Is Kiwanis Speaker The Tryon Kiwanis Club will meet Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. at Pacolet River Plantation. James E. Reid, District Ranger, Pisgah Ranger District, will be the speaker. A native of Virginia, Mr. Reid is a graduate of North Carolina State School of Forestry and has been employed by the U. S. Forest Service for 18 years. He is responsible for timber manage ment, water resources, im provement of trails and recrea tion areas and the wildlife program in 157,000 acres of the Pisgah Forest.
