222 and their effort to take a
summer trip to Disney World
The 15 members of Troop 222 are
equipped with wheelchairs, leg,
neck and head braces and ages
range from 11 to 22. The
handicapped troop is sponsored
by Charlotte Sertoma and its
Scoutmaster is Raymond Ander
son. Scoutmaster Anderson has
been Scoutmaster of the troop
during its 19 years of existence.
A native of Tryon, he is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Anderson.

Mr. Bodtker is a teacher at
Indiania Academy where he

more semester before retiring
permanently.
Mrs. Bodtker is the former
Margie Patrick of Rockford, Ill.
They have three grown
children: Michael B. Bodtker
who is an actuary with First
Colony Life Insurance C.,
Lynchburg, Va.; Myron W.
Bodtker who is owner an
operator of Hendersonville Sign
Co., residing at Arden, N. C.;
Miss Marcell E. Bodtker, an
accountant with the Lake Union,
Berrien Springs, Mich.
They are Seventh-day Advent
ists.
Mr. Bodtker is the brother of
Mrs Frank Carruth of Landrum.

At Kiwanis
The Tryon Kiwanis Club will
meet Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. at
Pacolet River Plantation. The
program will be on Key Clubs.
Capt M.C. Skipper has
returned to Havelock, N. C.
after spending a week with his
mother, Mrs. L. B. Skipper in
Tryon. He leaves for Japan the
12th of August for 1 year.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Belue of
Landrum are parents of a son,
John Holland, born Monday, July
21 at Spartanburg General
Hospital in Spartanburg. Holland
weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. Mrs. Belue is
a second grade teacher at 0. P.
Earle Elementary School in
Landrum.
Paternal grandparents are Mr.
and Mrs. Virgo Belue of Landrum
and the maternal grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wilson of
Inman.
Hole-In-One
Tony Felthaus shot a hole-in-
one Thursday afternoon on No. 10
at Red Fox Country Club. He
used a 6-iron on the 169 yard hole
He was playing with Roddy
Gettys, Steve Wolfe and Jim
Robertson.
Miss Carolyn Roff has returned
to her home in Tryon after a
two-week Girl Scout Wider
Opportunity, “Kansas Sampler”.
While in Topeka, she rode a
wagon train, did sightseeing at
the Eisenhower Museum and met
the governor of Kansas.

Polk County 8-6
The Forest City Little League
team eliminated Polk County 8-6
Thursday afternoon at Harmon
Field.
Polk County loaded the bases in
the 1st inning but was unable to
score. In their half of the 1st
Forest City pushed across three
runs with the big blow being a
two-run home run by Kingsmore
