School Board
Backs Thomas
The Polk County School Board
Wednesday night backed Polk
Central Principal Charles
Thomas in his handling of the
Confederate Flag issue at Polk
Central. The Board felt that the
Principal’s first duty was for the
safety of the children and that the
Principal should have the
authority to take necessary steps
to keep a situation from getting
out of hand. The Board felt that
there had been a good learning
environment at Polk Central and
that people outside the school had
blown the situation out of
proportion.
