Earle School and the Landrum Friends of the Arts will be "The Apple Ensemble”, featuring musicians Dan Harmon and Vollie McKensie. The program will be held Thursday night, Oct 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Landrum High School Gym. Dan Harmon and Voilie McKenzie have been sharing their musical interest with each other and the public for the past several years. Both musicians are from Lexington County, S. C. One of the major influences that has led to the content and style of their music is the rural Southern roots they share. Known as “The Apple Ensemble", they perform both old standard pieces such as “Red River Valley",, “Shady Grove”, and "The Sweet By and By” as well as original pieces they and relatives have composed. Between them they play a number of musical instruments including the guitar, banjo and mandolin.
