Home Entered The home of Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Stott of Rt. 1, Landrum was entered Thursday morning while the Stotts were away. Taken were 2 TVs, 3 guns and a digital clock. The Polk County Sheriff’s Dept, is investigating the break-in. Mrs. Claudia Little Mrs. Claudia Belle Holler Little, 91, of Rutherfordton, died Wednesday in a Rutherfordton Hospital after a short illness. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Rutherfordton. Surviving are two sons, John Little and Henry Little of Rutherfordton; two daughters, Mrs. Harry G. Peterson of Tryon and Miss Frankie Elizabeth Little of Rutherfordton; a sister, Mary Deal of Conover; five grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Services were held Saturday at Il a.m. in the Bethel Lutheran Church of Claremont. Burial was in Catawba Memorial Cemetery. McMahan's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Natural Gas Tryon Fire Cheif Clarence Scoggins reports that there will be a class on Natural Gas Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Tryon Fire Department. Samuel E. Constance, Director of Public Safety of the Public Service Company of North Carolina, Asheville will conduct the class, Richard Radford is the local manager for Public Service. Chief Scoggins said that it is necessary to have these classes due to the rapid growth of gas customers in our area. He said that he would like to extend an invitation to all of the Fire Departments and industries that are using natural gas to attend the class. Mrs. Plunkett Mrs. Elizabeth Longacre Plunkett, 86, widow of Albert D. Plunkett, 264 Marion St., Tryon died Thursday in St. Luke’s Hospital. A native of Philadelphia, Pa. she had made her home here for the past 21 years. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Polk Memorial Gardens. Polk Central scored in the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead. The Sidewinders, led by Austin Neal drove 67 yards in the second quarter for a score with Neal going the final 8 yards. Neal also ran the 2 pt. conversion to make it 8-6. The Sidewinders are now 21 and go to Campobello Thursday. The Sidewinders lost to Campobello in the first game of the season. Holland Haus, 2920 N.
