Kickoff is at 8 p.m. $265,500 Loan Approved For Sheltered Workshop Congressman Lamar Gudger has announced that the Farmers Home Administration has approved a loan of $265,500 for construction of a building for the Polk County Sheltered Workshop. The loan will be for 40 years at 5% interest. The 10,000 square foot facility is for a workshop and warehouse to serve handicapped citizens in Polk and Rutherford counties. Polk Winners At N. C. State Fair Lori Walker and Amy Westbrook have returned to Green Creek after participating in the Beef Cattle Division of the North Carolina State Fair at Raleigh. Lori, showing her Simmental heifer, won first place in her class, first place in Fitting and Showing, and was Reserve Champion of the commercial breeds.
