Students may start the Winter Quarter the last week in November or the first week in December. The classes are for those who want to read better or improve other basic skills. Adults can also earn their high school diploma. Practical skills are emphasized such as: filling out job applications, check books, reading utility bills, or learning about nutrition. Classes are located at Stearns School in Columbus, Green Creek School, Sunny View School, Saluda School, Roseland Center in Tryon, and the Polk campus (old St. Luke's Hospital). All of these classes meet at night. There is also a morning class at the Polk campus.
