After Election Day Most people realize that in a democracy, Election Day is one of the most important days in the year. But there are other days just as important, although they get little attention. Those are the days immediatley after Election Day. That’s the time that separates those who really believe in iemocracy from those who merely give it lip service for a short time. That's the time when the losers must be willing to go along with the will of majority, at least until next election. It is this willingness to abide by majority rule that separates America from so many other nations that have tried to be democracies in the past 200 years...and failed. In all-too-many of those nations, the losers, on the day after Election Day, picked up their guns and started shooting, instead of abiding by the outcome of the election. And the winners acted like tryants instead of representatives of all the people. This is the basic reason so few democracies succeed., a fact we too should pause to remember in the days ahead, as a new adminstration takes office. — WRAL-TV Editorial Tryon Daily Bulletin, Tues., Nov- 25J980 BUYING GOLD & SILVER Emogene & Jim Davis of YEARS AGO ANTIQUES Are Pleased To Annouce That SCOTTIES will be Buying Gold & Silver at their Shop Monday through Saturday We pay cash! 11:00 to 4:00 121 Trade St., Tryon, N.C. 859-6087 The Hearthstone Inn Will be Serving A Traditional Fireside Thanksgiving Dinner 12:00 — 3:00 NEEDED: Dog houses for winter housing In Polk and Spartanburg Counties by the Black Hawk Stall Phone 859- 5336 or 859-6514 Warm your spirits with a glass of fresh pressed Cider Punch by the glow of our blazing hearth and enjoy the sounds of Bob Hofland on the piano for your listening pleasure Cost will be $4.50 for children and $8.50 for adults.
