Tryon Daily Bulletin, Wed., Nov. 26, 1980 Communication The Tryon PTA Halloween Carnival was a great success!! The children had a spooky fun time and the PTA coffer was increased. Many dedicated people volunteered hours and hours to insure that the carnival was successful. In a project of this size, each person's contribution is important — whether it be baking a cake, making decorations, selling tickets, or setting up booths. Due to the efforts of these many parents, grandparents, teachers and friends, we look forward to being able to fulfill our WANTED: companion for elderly female. Either day care or live in weekly. The Skyuka weekend was a first for our area, and according to participants, it was a very successful and enjoyable experience. In addition to the individual interviews conducted, the Skyuka weekenders shared in many other activities, including a talent show — complete with singers and a bellydancer, guitar sing-a-longs, Russian folk dances, group interviews and walks and hikes through the woods. The next step in the AFS application process is a board review which is currently being conducted in New York. — Reporter Thomas W. Rooker of Oakland. Calif, is visiting his mother, Mrs. E. J.
