Bloodmobile. Mrs. Shirley
Arledge reported that 120 pints of
blood were collected to help save

the Gator Bowl, it was 27 to 3
when we decided to go to bed.
There are now two copies of
"The Moon Is Blue" at the Lanier
Library, and it may be read in the
reading room of the library. This
is the next production of the
Tryon Little Theater.

Farewell Tea For
Everett Freemans
The Tryon United Methodist
Church family and friends are
invited to a farewell tea for
Nancy and Everett Freeman on
Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. in the
fellowship Hall of the church. Mr.
Freeman, who has been minister
here since 1976, has been
transferred to the Oakley United
Methodist Church in Asheville.
Mrs. Freeman worked in the
Tryon City School System as a
reading specialist and a teacher's
aide. Mr. Freeman has been
active in the Tryon Kiwanis Club.
S/Sgt. and Mrs. Jerry Page of
Ft. Benning, Ga. spent the
holidays with Mr. and Mrs.
Marvin Page. On Dec. 18th Mrs.
Jerry Page became an American
citizen in preparation tor a return
trip to Korea. S/Sgt. Page will
leave Jan. 20th for a tour of duty
in Korea.
Draft Registration
Selective Service registration
for men born in 1962 will take
plaice during the week of Jan. Sth.
Men born in 1963 and later
should register within 30 days of
their 18th birthdays.
This is a continuation of the
program begun last summer
whereby men born in 1960 and
1961 visited post offices across
the nation to register.
Closed Thursday
The Tryon Town Hall will be
closed tomorrow, but there will
be garbage collection as usual.
Horse Creek Lodge
Meets Saaturday
Horse Creek Lodge No. 719 will
meet in Emergent
Communication Saturday, Jan.
3rd at 7 p.m. for the purpose of
installing the new officers for
1981. This will be an open
installation and the public is
invited. There will be a covered
dish supper. The new elected and
appointed officers are as follows:
