Surprised In
Entering House
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Holste
were returning to their home on
Mockingbird Hill about 10 o'clock
Tuesday evening when they
noticed a light flicker off in a
bathroom. Mr. Holste stopped the
car and Mrs. Holste got out
immediately. They could see
cigarettes glowing in the dark
and then two or more individuals
took off running through the
woods at the rear of their house
The law enforcement officers
were notified immediately and
Mr Holste said that within
minutes three patrol cars and 8
men were on the scene. He was
high in praise of the Tryon
Police Dept, Polk County
Sheriff's Dept.. Landrum Police
and the Spartanburg County
Sheriff's Dept.,
Mr Holste said that as far as
could be determined nothing was
taken. There was a 12 pack of
Millers Light Beer particially
consumed, and a fresh drink had
been poured His brief case had
been rifled and the remains of a
cup cake found. Left behind was a
brown suede cap. Wednesday
morning some of the same beer
was found stacked in a wagon
along the side of the house.
The intruders left by the back
door, but no visable damage was
done to the locked house when
they entered.
