The Tryon boys basketball team is already in Greensboro getting ready to play Pantego tonight at 7 o'clock in the Greensboro Colesium. There will be two chartered buses and others leaving at 1 p.m. from the Tryon High School. The boys have had a very successful year and we wish them well. Their opponent is 31-0 and one of their players. Bruce Peartree has been named to the 1981 N. C. Associated Press All-State High School Team Tonight from 5:30 to 7 p.m. is the Spaghetti Supper at Polk Central High School Tonight at 8:30 the Children’s Theater Festival begins with Robin Hood at the Fine Arts Center. Super Saturday is all day Saturday on Melrose Ave. The Polk County Republican Convention is Saturday at 10 a m. at the courthouse in Columbus. Saturday at 2:30 p.m. the Polk County Commissioners will meet at 2:30 p.m. with Sen Bo Thomas to discuss the special legislation concerning the Polk County Soil Conservation. Nelson, both of Tryon, were united in marriage Wednesday, March 18th at a private service at the Tryon Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John D. officiated. 25th Anniversary For Rock Springs Rock Springs Baptist Church (Lake Lanier) will celebrate its 25th year on Sunday, March 22nd Rev. Cloggers On TV The Polk County Cloggers will be on TV Sunday at 12:30. They will be seen on the Fred Kerby Show on Channel 3, Charlotte. Officers Elected For Organic dub The Town and Country Organic Garden Club has elected the following officers: Bob Vierling, pres.; Kurth Wilinski, vice- pres.; Rita Vierling, sec.; Joan Soltis, cor. sec.; Mason Larwood, treas. The program and publicity committee consists of Charles Soltis, chairman; Russell Knouse and Craig Williams. At their March 15th meeting Ivan Kuster of Tryon presented his program on Wildflowers, illustrated by color slides. The program for the next meeting will be on “Summer Birds” to be given by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Frederick. Julie Staggs, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Terry Staggs of Landrum recently visited the School of Music at the University of Georgia She was given a tour of the school and introduced to the requirements for entry and the scope of the program of music study by Dr. Legllar Tryon Western Auto Store will be closed Saturday due to a death in the family.
