Miss Dunton’s Grome House was featured recently by Jan Hersey in a national magazine. The Polk County Soil and Water Conservation District Board and the Polk County Commissioners will meet tonight at 8 o’clock in the Agricultural Extension Conference Room to try to work out some of their differences. Democrats and Republicans can work together when the chips are down. Last Thursday night, Hoyt Pack, Chairman of the Democrat Precinct No. 8 had an attack while in the courthouse conducting a meeting. TUESDAY, MARCH 31,1981 In Concert Saturday Alesia Gibson Alesia Gibson, a Columbus resident who performed in a recent folk bluegrass concert at Isothermal Community College, will appear again on ICC stage on Sat., April 4, at 8 p.m. Gibson will sing a selection of old folk ballads, rock n' roll, and country western songs. Although only 19, Gibson is no stranger to the stage. She has participated in talent shows all over the state, winning or placing in several. "Emotion”, she states, “is what I’m trying to get across. I use my voice to interpret songs, not imitate singers." In addition to her talent as a singer, Gibson writes lyrics and studios poetry writing with Jeff Friedman, ICC's Visiting Artist in-Residence.
