Bamberg-Ehrhardt beat Chapman High baseball team 10 to 3 Wednesday night. The final game is tonight. Tonight at 8 o’clock is the commencement exercise of Polk Central High School. The Landrum High graduation is Saturday at 6 p.m. at the A. R. Walden Gymnasium The Tryon Baccalaureate service is Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Tryon First Baptist Church and the graduation exercises will be Friday, June Sth at 8 p.m. at the football field. The Tryon Boosters Club is having a special meeting tonight at 7 o'clock at the High School. There has been nothing but praise for "An Evening of Broadway Showstoppers”. There will be performances tonight and Saturday night at 8 o'clock and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tonight at 7 o’clock the Saluda Medical Center annual meeting will be held at the Saluda School Cafeteria. Monday the Tryon School Continued On Back Page Polk Commissioners Meet Monday The Polk County Commissioners will meet Monday at 3 p.m. at the court- house in Columbus. Childrens’ Spring Concert Sunday At Landrum 1st Baptist The Preschool, Music Makers, and Young Musicians’ Choirs will be presented in Spring Concert this Sunday, May 31st at 7:30 p.m. The repertoire consists of music learned during the past year. The Preschool Choir is directed by Mrs. James Christopher and is accompanied by Miss Robin Lee. Mrs. Jimmy Clement is the accompanist for the Music Makers Choir. The Young Musicians' Choir is accompanied by Miss Kerry Ward. Approximately 50 children will be participating in the concert. Ronald Searcy is the Minister of Music. The public is cordially invited. A Graduate Among the graduates of Wingate College was William James Miller, who received a B.S. Degree. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs Wm. H. Miller of Tryon. The Music Makers of Tryon are playing tonight at the Spartanburg Country Club and Saturday night at the Ramada Inn in Spartanburg. Change In Time Of Tryon School BD. Stamp Club Meets Monday The Thermal Belt Stamp Club will meet on Monday, June 1st at 7:30 p.m. in the NCNB Conference Room. Guests are invited. The slide show, “Rarities of the World”, obtained from the Smithsonian Institution, will be presented and plans for the first Thermal Belt Stamp Show will be formulated. A New Arrival Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fuentes (Maria Hyder) of Rt. 3, Landrum, are parents of a daughter, Melissa Lee, born Wednesday, May 27 at Spartanburg General Hospital in Spartanburg. Melissa weighed 6 1b.5 oz. Paternal grandmother is Mrs. Margaret Fuentes of Rt. 3, Landrum. Maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Grady Hyder of Landrum. Hugh M. Chapman. Columbia, S. C. banker, was elected as Trustee of The Duke Endowment at the monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees held in Charlotte on May 27th Chapman, 48, is a native of Spartanburg Democrats Meet Monday At 8 p.m. The Polk County Democratic Executive Committee will meet Monday at 8 p.m. at the Courthouse.
