Sr. Little League
State Tournament
At Harmon Field
Dick Alexander, District
Administrator for Little League
Baseball, has announced that
Harmon field and the Polk
County Little League have been
selected to host the 1981 Senior
Little League Baseball State
Tournament. The tournament
which will begin on July 27 and
end on August 1,1981 will involve
one representative from each of
the seven Little League Districts
in North Carolina. The
tournament will be a double
elimination type and there will be
either twelve or thirteen games
played during the week.
Because there will be
significant expense in putting the
tournament on, it will be
necessary to charge a $100 per
game admission. Those who wish
to purchase a season ticket for
$12.00 will be able to do so in
advance of the start of the
tournament. The Polk County
Little League will also appreciate
any donations which members of
the community might care to
give in this regard. Donations
may be sent to the PCLL
President who is G. M. Tennant
or to Herman Scruggs who is the
Vice-President for Senior League
Baseball in Polk County.
The awarding of this
tournament to Polk County is the
culmination of a long effort on the
part of the Polk County Little
League officials to secure a state
level tournament for our area.
