Fire Damages
Lohse Home
The Karl Lohse home on Glen
Walden Circle, Tryon was
heavily damaged by smoke and
fire early Thursday morning. The
Tryon Fire Department received
the call at 1:48 and the firemen
were going in the front door at
1:52.
The fire was believed to have
started on the second floor by an
air conditioner and then came out
the roof on the 3rd floor. The
electrical fire created lots of
smoke and the firemen had to use
masks. Chief Clarence Scoggins
said some of the firemen were on
the second floor fighting the fire
overhead and some were on the
roof fighting the fire below
them.
Chief Scoggins said that 15
firemen responded to the call and
he was proud of the way they
performed. The firemen helped
clean up the home to prevent
water damage and checked back
in at the fire station at 4:30 a.m.
