According to WTYN only 299. of the air traffic controllers wen back at work by 11 a m Wednesday. Some of the controllers shifts were not scheduled so it would not be known until this morning how many actually went back. Mrs Lillian Mills-Mosselle will autograph copies of “The Red Coats of the Blue Ridge” Friday from 11 to 12 noon at the Book Shelf. If you have a copy already, bring it in to be autographed. A new law in North Carolin! requires school boards to charge tuition to students from out of state, from out of the school district or those residing on military reservations. No minimum tuitition charge is established by the law, but it say; the rates may not exceed th amount of per capita local funding. The new law exempt: any existing written agreements between boards of education, with or without tuition charges. The summers don't seem to b slow and lazy any more. School opens in two weeks and it seems as if the children just got out of Continue!! On Back Page Biltmore House On Postage Stamp The United States Post Office will release a commemorative postage stamp featuring Biltmore House, located in Asheville, N. C., on August 28 The First Day of Issue ceremony will be held at the newly created National Building Museum in Washington, D C. The Biltmore stamp will be available to the public nationwide after August 28. New Arrival Mr. and Mrs. Terry Neil of Taylors, S. C. are parents of a daughter. Elizabeth Ashley, born July 12th at Greenville General Hospital, Greenville, S. C. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Higgins of Landrum. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Don Neil of Iron Station, N. C. Paternal great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lester Neil of York, S. C. and Mrs. Rena Turner of Clover, S. C Elizabeth has an older brother, Christopher Lee, who will be 4 years old in September. Polk County School Board Meets Monday The Polk County Board of Education will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Agriculture Extension Conference Room. Tryon High Class of 1941 The Tryon High School Class of 1941 will hold its 40th reunion Saturday at 6 p.m. at Caro-Mi Dining Room. For more information call Harold Taylor at 859-6247. Polk Central Schedules Available The Polk Central High School schedules will be available in the guidance office for students and their parents on the following days: Seniors and Juniors, Monday, August 10, from 9-3. Sophomores and Freshman, Tuesday, August 11, from 9 to 3. For those students who work during the day or for some reason cannot come on their regular day. the office will be open on Thursday. August 13, from 2 to 8 p.m. This will be the only opportunity for changes to be made in student schedules. Singing Saturday There will be a special singing Saturday, Aug. 8th at 7 p.m. at the State Line Independent Baptist Church Special singers will be Don and Earl. Faggart will speak to the members on "Fundamentals of Investing." Mr. Faggerl is an Investment Counselor with A.G. Edwards & Sons and a member of the New York Stock Exchange. He is a native of Concord, North Carolina and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Phi Beta Kappa. He and his family moved to Tryon twelve years ago.
