Department will be holding
Aerobic Exercise Classes al O P
Earle School in Landrum
Classes will meet on Tuesday and
Thursday evenings at 5:00, 6:00
and 7:00 Elizabeth Laughridge
will be instructing the 5:00 and
7:00 classes, and Karen Pruette
will be instructing the 6:00 class
Classes will start September 8th
Registration will be held the first
night of classes. Cost of classes
for the 6 week course, will be

On Friday evening, August 7th,
Miss Aundria Walker, daughter
of Mrs Hazel Walker Chapin,
received her Bachelor of Science
degree in Business
Administration from Mars Hill
College
Aundria was a 1978 graduate of
Polk Central High School and
completed her B S. in a three
year period She plans to begin
work on her Master's Degree
within the year
While at Mars Hill she was
elected to serve as a Senator for
the Student Government
Association and as secretary for
the Student Body. During her
Sophomore-Junior year she was
presented an award for her
dedication and service to the
Student Government Association
She has also served a three year
term with the Army Reserve
while she attended Mars Hill.

teachers.
Mrs. Earl Christopher (Mary
Jane Andrews) of Landrum
taught the class in the 6th grade.
She brought the class grade book
and called the roll. At that time
there were 40 members of the
class. (Members present asked
her not to read the grades.)
Mrs. Norme Frost (Betty
Doubleday) of Tryon was the 7th
grade teacher. She had the class
present "H.M.S. Pinafore" while
in the 7th grade so everyone sang
a few numbers from the Guilbert
and Sullivan production.
Miss Ann Sevier, taught
freshman, sophomore, junior and
senior English to the group. She
told of various things that
members of the class had done.
Miss Helen Andrews of
Landrum taught some of the girls
in Home Economics and renewed
old acquaintances.
Miss Lula Burrell, the School
Secretary was present and she
said that she had secrets of
members of the class and would
still keep them.
