Sassoon Memorial Park William Edward Sassoon William Edward Sassoon Memorial Park will soon be established at the eastern entrance to Tryon, at the confluence of Highways 176 and 108 This entrance park became a reality as a gift to the area from Stella Sassoon, Mr. Sassoon's widow. At the request of the Town of Tryon the Polk County Community Foundation took an option on the three-acre site about a year ago. Development of a natural entrance park as a memorial to Mr. Sassoon is now underway.
