Reception For
AFS Students
There will be a reception for
AFS students on Sunday.
September 13, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at
the Polk County Library,
Columbus.
The reception will provide an
opportunity for everyone to meet
the AFS students living in Polk
County this year and to welcome
home the Polk County AFS
students who have returned from
living in another country during
the last year.

reality as a gift to the area from
Stella Sassoon, Mr. Sassoon's
widow.
At the request of the Town of
Tryon the Polk County
Community Foundation took an
option on the three-acre site
about a year ago.
Development of a natural
entrance park as a memorial to
Mr. Sassoon is now underway.
