All three area teams open their
1981 football season tonight, but
local fans will have to travel if
they want to see them play. Polk
Central goes to Chesnee; Tryon
travels to Bessemer City; and
Landrum goes to Chapman
Kickoff is at 8 p m for all three
games.

Tom Waldenfels of Landrum
attended the loth anniversary
convention of The Libertarian
Party in Denver, Colorado last
week. Alicia Clark, a California
businesswoman was elected
chairman and Sheldon Rickman
of Washington was elected vice
chairman.

Election Board
The Town of Tryon Election
Board has named Nora Davidson
chairman and Bertha Smith,
secretary. Roy Berry is the third
member of the Board The next
meeting will be Monday, Sept.
21st at 5:15 p m at the Town Hall
to appoint a Registrar and two
judges.
