C. 28782 Opens Today The Columbus Farm Supply, now known as Columbus Farm & Garden Center, operated by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abrams and Mr and Mrs. Doug Roach, opened today in a new location. The Columbus Farm and Garden Center has a new building at the corner of Blanton and Ward Streets in Columbus, just one block from the old location. Mr. Roach said that customers will enjoy a bright new sales area, easy loading from a new warehouse dock, plenty of off- street parking, easy access from Highway 108, and a wide variety of farm, home and garden supplies. Penny is the 13 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Voso. She has an older brother, Andy, who is 15 years old. Penny is in Mrs. Fortanbary’s homeroom and is president of her class. Being her class’ president also makes her a member of the student council. Penny is in Miss Turner’s Special Education class and maintains an A average in her school work. She is a member of the Tryon Senior Band. She is going to play 7th and Sth grade basketball this year also. Penny is very helpful to both her teachers and schoolmates. Money raised will be spent on athletic supplies. There will be a costume contest, king and queen contest and various, games.
