The Tryon P.T.A Carnival Saturday will have a Costume Parade at 4 p.m. Other items omitted from the ads were Rummage Sale and a Concession Continued On Back Page Injured In Wreck The Landrum Rescue Squad and the Landrum Fire Department were called to a one car accident Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Hwy 14 near Four Columns Farm. The car was occupied by Jay Davis of Landrum and three of his children The Landrum Rescue Squad took them to St Luke's Hospital where Mr Davis was admitted with two broken legs. He was reported to be in stable condition Thursday morning A step daughter. Kerry Twitty, age, 7, was also admitted for observation Hikers Found Three hikers, two teenage girls and a lady, left the monument at 1-26 and Howard Gap Road Wednesday morning to hike to Ricks Haven on Tryon Mountain. They didn't return by dark and at 9:45 p m the Polk County Rescue Squad was called into action. Part of the group went from the monument toward Ricks Haven and part went from the Town on Tryon Peak toward Ricks Haven. Both groups missed the hickers who finally managed to come out below Ricks Haven and were picked up by the Rescue Squad and carried back to their vehicle. Members of the Rescue Squad got back about 2 a.m POLLS OPEN 6:30 A.M. TO 7:30 P.M. The polls for the Tryon City Municipal Election will be open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m to 7:30 p.m. Polk County Teacher Of The Year Janice F. Summers Janice F Summers. Language Arts teacher at Polk Central High School, has been chosen as Polk County Teacher-of-the-Year 1981- 82. Mrs. Summers during her ten years teaching career at Polk Central has been involved in sponsoring the Junior Varsity Cheerleaders and the Senior Beta Club. She organized the Junior Beta Club with a charter membership of sixty-seven seventh and eighth grade students in 1979. She is an active member of her church, serving as Sunday School teacher and vacation Bible School teacher. Her other community activities include being a den mother for Cub Scout Pack. Parent-Teacher Association active membership, and helping her husband with a Little League team She is a member of the Polk County National Humanities Faculty Continued On Back Page Football Tonight All three area schools play at home tonight. Dixie plays at Landrum; Rosman comes to Polk Central and Lockhart is at Tryon. Dixie at Landrum This game will decide the Conference Championship. Both Dixie and Landrum are undefeated in conference play. Landrum is 6-2 overall, but is yet to put it all together. Dixie demolised Blue Ridge last Friday and should be slight favorites. Since Landrum is playing at home we will take the Cardinals, but they will have to play well to win. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. Rosman al Polk Central The Rosman Tigers will invade Polk Central tonight. Rosman has been improving and should beat the Patriots. Kickoff is at 7:30. Lockhart at Tryon Last year Lockhart won 2-0 and this year it should be another good game. Tryon has had too many injuries. Lockhart in a close game. Kickoff at 7:30 p m No License Examiners Here Tuesday The License Examiners won't be at the Tryon Town Hall Tuesday due to the municipal election, but will be there on Wednesday.
