Richard Landis is in charge of the program. 60th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. B.D Fisher of Inman Rt 7 observed their 60th wedding anniversary last Wednesday. They have two sons, Fred J of Landrum and Douglas D. of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Dixie Campbell of Gainesville, Ga., and Mrs. Jacqueline Perkins of Mauldin. S. C.; 11 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren A New Arrival Mrs. Clark A. (Mary) Moore, and the late Clark A. Moore, are the parents of a daughter, Melissa born on Tues., Dec. 22nd in Summerville, S. C. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clark Moore of Tryon. The maternal grandmother is Mrs. Addie Lee Hines of Green Creek. Melissa has two brothers, Clark Le-Rone, 12 years old and Michael Todd who is 5 years old. Mr. and Mrs. James Epps will spend the holidays with Bluford Griffin and Mrs. Viola Waddell of Tryon. For Girl Scouts Lydia Clontz, chairman, reports that additional contributions to the 1981 Polk County Girls Scout Fund Drive have been received from Mrs. Robert L. Dick, Miss Katherine Kirby, Dr. and Mrs. J. T. Mize, Mrs. Joan Sikes. Mrs. Clontz said that the 1981 drive had been very successful with contributions amounting to over $3500, the largest amount contributed in Polk County. Tryon Hounds Wednesday 9 a.m . at Stateline. John Janulis of the Great Lakes Naval Station is spending the Christmas holidays in Trycn with his family. Mrs. John Z. Preston Mrs. Marie Louise Preston, 72, wife of Dr. John Z. Preston, Warrior Drive, Tryon, died early Thursday morning in St. Luke's Hospital. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harold G. and Florence Goode Von Goldberg. She had made her home here since 1937 and was a Needlepoint Designer. Mrs. Preston was an authority on the traditions of the Episcopal Church and made many things for churches in this country. Mrs. Preston was a member of the Church of Holy Cross. Surviving beside her husband ire: three sons, Michael Preston of Spartanburg, S. C., David Preston and Phillip Preston, both of Tryon; one sister, Mrs. Eileen Wylie of Brevard; eight grandchildren. Memorial services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Episcopal Church of Holy Cross with the Rev. James 0. Reynolds officiating. Interment was in the church memorial garden. Memorials may be made to the Church of Holy Cross.
