President Reagan declared Thursday that he has “no plans to send American combat troops into action” in El Salvador or anywhere else, but refused to flatly rule out that possibility in the future. At least three NASCAR drivers allegedly used their race cars to transport narcotics in a "masive drug operation” involving 70 people, FBI agents said Thursday, Robert Pence, head of the FBI’s North Carolina office, said 66 of the 70 were indicted by a federal grandjury in Miami and four were included in Charlotte, ending a 2^ year investigation into narcotics activity in South Florida and North Carolina. Tonight at 7:30 the Landrum Continued On Back Page Still Destroyed The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Departments Narcotics and Vice Division joined forces with the S. C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission to raid a still on Rt. 1, Landrum, Thursday about 12:30 p.m. Two men, who were at the site of the still were arrested when the law enforcement officers raided the still on Landrum Mills Road. Arrested were Johnny Calvin Weaver, 50, of Landrum, Rt. 2, and Roy Douglas Whiteside, 38, of Landrum, who were charged with manufacturing illegal liquor. Using dynamite police destroyed the nine-50 gallon barrels and confiscated four cases of illegal liquor. — from Spartanburg Herald WSPA-TV news stated that a hose was hooked up from a nearby trailer which ran to the still. The trailer reportedly belonged to Jamie Belue. New Arrival Mr. and Mrs. Scott Harding of Stockbridge, Ga., are parents of a daughter, Adria Kate, born on Feb. 12th in Georgia. Maternal grandmother is Mrs. Edna Roach of Tryon and the paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Harding of Springfield, Va. Mrs. Ethel Anderson of Springfield, Va. is the great-grandmother. Adria has a sister, Meredith, who is 2 years old. Dudley McGraw Not Guilty On Jan. 25th the Court of Appeals of North Carolina reversed a conviction of Dudley G. McGraw for felonious manu facture of marijuana. Mr. McGraw, who represented himself was sentenced to 5 years in Polk County Superior Court on Oct. 15, 1980. Mr. McGraw appealed the verdict and was represented by Wayne Eads of Raleigh. , „ The appeal was heard Noy. 19th, 1981 by the Court of Appeals and the judgment was given Jan. 25,1982 by Judge Earl W.
