Landrum Rescue
Squad Busy
The Landrum Rescue Squad
has been busy. They were called
toa two car accident Wednesday
about 3:30 p.m. on Hwy. 176
between Rookies and Hyder's
Plumbing One of the cars had a
blowout, hit a pole and then hit
the other car The driver, a Mr.
Crowe, was taken to St. Luke's
Hospital by his sister, according
to reports Patrolman Gibson
investigated the accident
Thursday about 12 noon a 2-car
accident took place on Hwy. 176
at the intersection of a road at the
Landrum Methodist Church. A
car driven by Vivian Mullins
pulled out into the highway and
was hit by a pick-up truck driven
by Danny Jones Mr. Jones was
traveling South. Ms. Mullins and
her two passengers were taken to
St Luke's Hospital by the
Landrum Rescue Squad.
About 1 a m Friday the
Landrum Rescue Squad was
called to the Oak Grove
Community where a Mr.
Gardner. 36, was stabbed in the
shoulder He was taken to a
Greenville County hospital by the

At Tryon Federal
Ray J. Foster
Thomas P. Johnson, Chairman
of the Board, Tryon Federal
Savings and Loan Association
has announced the election of
Ray J. Foster as President of the
Association. The promotion will
be effective May 1. Mr. Foster
succeeds President J. Russell
Constance who is retiring.
Mr. Foster was employed by
the Association March, 1962 He
