Suber Drafted By
Buffalo Bills
Anthony Suber, a 6-3, 250
pound defensive tackle from
Tryon was selected by the
Buffalo Bills in the 12th round
Wednesday.
Suber played last season for the
Carolina Chargers, finishing at
Gardner-Webb after the 1980
season. He is a 1977 graduate of
Tryon High school, where he was
also a basketball standout.
Arrested
Gary Hannon of Rutherford
County has been arrested and
charged with the theft of two
chain saws taken from the truck
of Jack Story on Feb. 7th. Sheriff
Boyce Carswell said that the two
chain saws were valued at $700
Win Trip To
World’s Fair
Mr. and Mrs. William Lee of
Rt. 2, Columbus will be at the
World's Fair in Knoxville
Saturday for the first dav s
activities. Mr Lee said that he
was notified by Spartanburg
radio station WKDY that he had
won two tickets for the opening
day of the Fair. They will leave
from the K-Mart parking lot '
Spartanburg at 6 a m and re u
at 12 midnight.
Meets Monday

meet Monday at 7:30 at the nig
school.

Payne Named
Comments Editor
Miss Joyce Payne, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Payne of
Tryon, has been named
Comments Editor for Volume 18
of the "Harvard Civil Rights and
Civil Liberties Law Review" at
the Harvard Law School. Joyce
will be responsible for
supervising student-written
articles which are published in
the legal journal.
A 1976 graduate of Tryon
High and a 1980 graduate of
Wofford College, Joyce is also a
member of the Harvard Law
School Board of Student
Advisers, and she is a Harvard
College Freshman Proctor. Upon
graduation from Harvard in
June, 1983, Miss Payne will spend
a year as a judicial clerk on the
federal district court level.
Afterwards, she plans to begin
practicing corporate law.

Charged
Sheriff Boyce Carswell reports
that Fred Dimsdale of Rt. 2,
Inman has also been charged
with the break-in at the
Pennington Shoe Store in Sandy
Plains which took place on Jan.
24th. A Kerosene Heater, valued
at $200 which was taken at that
time has been recovered.
Dimsdale was recently arrested
when surprised in the store by the
owner, Willard Pennington.
Sheriff Carswell said that
Dimsdale was in the county jail
and that more arrests are
expected.
