Honor Volunteers
The week of April 25—30 was
designated to honor volunteers
nationwide. The Polk County
Senior Center (the Meeting
Place) takes this opportunity to
recognize its volunteer program.
Due to a very busy schedule last
week, we failed to get an article
prepared for the media. Please
accept our apology.
We do take great pride in our
volunteer program and our
leaders. The program and
services to the elderly could not
be met without their support and
dedication. North Carolina has a
very high percentage of
volunteers, and it is our joy to be
an organization with positions
they can serve. Meeting Place
volunteers serve in various
1 capacities and interested
individuals may contact the
center Monday thru Friday 9
a m . — 4 p.m. for information.
Our telephone number is 859-9707.
In the past, our appreciation
luncheon has been scheduled in
April, but due to renovation and
program changes, we find it
necessary to schedule the
appreciation dinner at a later
date. This will be a combined
event, Open House for the public
on June 5 (Sat.) 3-5 p.m. and
recognition dinner for volunteers
at 6 p.m. Invitations will follow.

dripping, get your faucet fixed.
Then rub out the stain with
