Saluda Fire Dept.
Is Praised
The Polk County Commission
ers held a short meeting on 3 May
1982. The state Emergency
Medical Service is so pleased
with the work the Saluda Fire
Department did in raising enough
money to buy an Emergency
Medical Vehicle, and also with
the training of the crew that it
wishes to help Saluda get more
equipment. There is only one
condition, that they be a back-up
to St. Luke’s EMS if needed. The
Board voted a resolution
supporting the Saluda Fire
Department.
Fire Warden Hobie Durham
requested to borrow the county s
1976 aerial photos. They are also
on mylar and microfilm in the
Tax Supervisor’s office. It was
voted to let the Fire Warden
borrow the photos. .
The County Library received
56012 more than expected from
the State and a budge
amendment was made to acco
for this.

The damage to the high school
