Guice, Jr. Files For Superior Court Judgeship Judge Zoro J. Guice. Jr. has filed for a Superior Court Judge ship in the Twenty-Ninth Judicial District. Guice, a Western North Carolina native, has served as a District Court Judge for thirteen years in the Twenty-Ninth Judicial District and in the State of North Carolina. During his years of service. Judge Guice has presided over the district, civil and criminal courts in twenty-four of North Carolina’s one hundred counties in all areas of the State from the mountains to the coast He has developed a reputation as a hard- working and thorough trial judge He has been recognized as a Region C Criminal Justice Planning Agency Outstanding Judge of the year and was a 1988 recipient of a Certificate of Appreciation from the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission for outstanding service. Residents The Polk County School Board had a first reading of a proposed policy on “Admission of Students who are not Domiciliaries of Polk County. The second reading will be held next month The proposed policy is as follows: A. Tuition of $ shall be charged annually to the following: 1 Pupils who are not domiciliaries of North Carolina, regardless of current residence. 2 Pupils who are domiciliaries of North Carolina but do not reside within the administrative unit 3 Pupils who temporarily reside in the administrative unit who are domiciliaries of North Carolina but are not domiciliaries of the administrative unit and who do not intend, or whose parents or legal guardians do not intend, to make their permanent legal domicile in the administrative unit. B Exemptions The following categories of pupils are exempt from the requirement to pay tuition, regardless of their domiciling status: 1 . May Have Buyer The U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Charlotte on Monday granted Red Fox Ltd an extension until Feb. 5 on hearing the motion to convert its Chapter 11 bankruptcy status to Chapter 7 liquidation.
