First Reading Not The Last Polk County Manager Steven D Wyatt responded this week to criticism leveled at the county administration by members of the Taxpayers Association of Polk County During their recent membership meeting, association members reported that the county commissioners passed the first reading of a solid waste ordinance "that they (the commissioners) had not previously had time to read " Wyatt said by approving the ordinance on a first reading, the county administration is putting the public on notice that this ordinance is up for serious consideration "The ordinance is on file at the county offices and public comment is welcome."
