score was Landrum 52 and
Carver 41. The Landrum team
consists of Jodi Christopher.

Brannon’s Closed
Due To Fire
Brannon's Restaurant had a
fire Sunday about 6 p.m. Doug
Brannon reported that the dryer,
which was empty and not in
operation caught fire The
Landrum Fire Department and
Columbus Fire Department
responded and Tryon Fire
Department was on standby.
There was extensive smoke
damage.
The restaurant will be closed
until the building can be cleaned
and re-painted.
Little League Tryouts
And Registration
The Polk County Little League
will conduct its 1990 registration
and tryouts on the following
dates:
Saturday, March 31st, 10 a m
at Harmon Field; Satuday, April
7th. 10 a m at Harmon Field
Eligible ages for Little League
are 9-12 year olds.
Tryouts will be for NEW
players only. Players who played
in the Polk County Little League
last year and will return need not
tryout. BUT registration is
required. ALL players are
required to present their birth
certificate at the time of
registration.
The 1990 players fee is $20 for
each Little Leaguer and is
payable at Registration
The player's for for NEW
players that will tryout is not due
until team selection is made. —
