Tonight. Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, the Tryon Theater is bringing a classic picture to the screen, "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof,” with Paul Newman as Brick and Elizabeth Taylor as Maggie “The Cat." A lot of towns the size of Tryon don’t have the luxury of viewing just-released hits at a theater within walking distance. It's not been a real money- making proposition for theater owners to try to stay open in more rural areas, as big city, multi screen, air-conditioned theaters have drawn the crowds. Wyatt’s proposal for the 1990-91 fiscal year allots $1,685,132, which correctly represents a 4% increase over last year's current expense allotment. Dr. Causby’s negative 5% figure is based on total county funds allocated for 1989-90 fiscal year In overall county funds for the schools, which includes capital outlay, the 1988-89 budget was a 9% cut from the previous year’s budget, and the 1989-90 Continued On ||.
