One Continued On Back Page Fender Bender Tryon Police Chief Nathan Shields investigated a two vehicle accident Monday at 7:50 a.m. at the junction of Trade St. and Palmer St. in Tryon. A pickup truck driven by Paul Dimsdale on Trade St. ran into the side of a car driven by Daisy Miller of Rutherfordton who was on Palmer Streer. Chief Shields said that about $400 damage was done to the Miller vehicle and no damage was done to the Dimsdale pick- up. Paces To Celebrate 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Ector Hobart Pace, Sr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, July 21,1990 from 2 to 5 p.m. with a drop-in reception in the fellowship hall of the Saluda First Baptist Church. They were married July 21, 1940. She is the former Mary Elizabeth Ballard and is retired from General Electric Company, She was the first Apple Festival Queen for Henderson County. He is retired from Saluda Yarn Company. Their children are Ector Hobart Pace, Jr. and David Phillip Pace, both of Saluda and Richard Dean Pace of Weaverville. They have five grandchildren. — Hendersonville Times-News Read The Bulletin For Local News Rotarian Of The Year At a recent meeting of the Tryon Rotary Club, R. Anderson Haynes was awarded the Joseph W. Wells Memorial as Tryon Rotarian of the Year. The honor is conferred annually by the civic club upon the Rotarian who most exemplifies the club’s motto: “Service Above Self .” Andy Haynes was born and grew up in Tryon. He graduated from St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, Delaware and went on to receive his B.A. in History from Trinity College, Hartford. Connecticut. Upon obtaining his Juris Doctor degree in 1973 from the Law School at the University of North Carolina, he returned home to begin his practice.
