Volunteers are being sought to
spend a few hours cleaning up the
inlets and shorelines of Lake
Adger.
If you've ever had the pleasure
of fishing the lake — one of
Western North Carolina’s best
kept secrets — you've probably
been struck by the contrast
between the beautiful scenery of
this mountain lake and the
ugliness of the litter along its
shore.
Bays arc nearly filled up with
styrofoam, old drums, and
careless visitors' trash. Shoreline
campgrounds bear the remains
of parties — beer cans, bottles
and trash.
Thankfully, there are hundreds
of people who just want to clean
all this up and put it right again.
In cooperation with The Big
Sweep '90, a clean-up has been
organized for Saturday, Sept 22.
If you’d like to join in the fun and
volunteer to restore Lake Adger’s
beauty, meet at the Red Barn
Boat Launch at 10 a.m. to recieve
instructions and trash bags. Boat
launching will be free.
