Mondav. .07 inches of rain had
fallen - as an unending blanket of
mist, milimeter by milimeter.
November was drier than
usual, with only 2.52 inches of
rain total. The average is more
like 4.15 inches. But the total
precipitation for the year, at 68.1
inches, is still 8.78 inches over the
average to date.
Spartanburg County last week
completed plans that redefined
the boundaries of the county’s
fire districts, ending a process
that began almost a decade ago.
Before the revisions, nearly a
third of the county’s 830 square
miles were located outside a fire
district. County planners hope,
now that every part of
Soartanburg County is covered
by one of 45 fire districts,
taxpayers in each district will
support the volunteer
department that serves them.
The planners also hope to
alleviate some of the confusion
which emergency dispatchers
have faced without clear fire
district boundary lines.
