Well, the commas separating the phrase "along with 25 (Continued On Back Page) Green Creek Spelling Bee Green Creek Elementary held its school spelling bee on Tues day, Feb. 19. The competition was fierce - with 21 students participating from grades 4-6. Michael Barnes, a sixth grader in Mrs. Wilson's class was the ultimate winner. Cliff Gordon, a fifth grader in Mrs. Giles' class, was the runner-up, and Kellie Sessoms in Mrs. Gibbs' sixth grade came in third place. Tire winning word was circulate. These winners will attend the Polk County Spelling Bee on Feb. 26, 1991. Parent Meeting At PCHS On Tuesday, Feb. 26, parents of seventh grade students at Polk Central High School arc invited to attend a meeting which will explain the TEEN- AID program. Tins is a program which will teach healthful liv ing to the seventh graders, and a strong component of it is parent involvement. At the meeting parents will have a chance to ask questions and review materials which will be used. Tire meeting will begin at 7 pm. in the library. All par ents of seventh graders at Polk Centra] High School arc urged to attend. Collette Thompson is a final ist in a regional poetry contest. Power 93 Move Here Temporary The radio station which formerly known as ' was The Breeze" has moved its pro gramming offices to the Feagan Building in Columbus. But not for long. WBBO-FM/93.3 will be moving its entire operation to Greenville, S.C. as soon as new studios can be built there. "We were in Forest City," said WBBO's Bill Catcher. He said the station dropped the soft jazz/ pop format and became "Power 93" with Top 40 rock n' roll. Tire Forest City AM station which owned the building where "The Breeze" studios were located was not comfort able with the new format and asked WBBO to move out within 30 days. "We decided to move right away," Catcher said. "But this is only temporary. It is nothing against Columbus. But it is hard to service Greenville and Spar tanburg from here and we need °“ r Programming and sales offices together." Catcher said the station's tower is located on top of White Oak Mountain, and that made Columbus a good location. Tire tower will remain outside Columbus after the move to Greenville. Catcher said it is no Problem to send the signal as tar as from Greenville to the tower. Milne, who lived in Freder icksburg for over two decades, is one of 11 charter members of the club still living. He said the club was "purely for fun."
