The screenplay for the top- grossing movie for the last two weeks, "The Silence of the Lambs," was written by the brother of a Tryon resident. Ted Tally, the screenwriter, is the brother of Mrs. Alan (Susan) Leonard. Tally based the screenplay upon the novel by Thomas Harris. The movie, which grossed $11.9 million in its second weekend showing, stars Jodie Foster as an FBI agent who must befriend an impri soned mass murderer in order to solve another case. Tally also wrote the screen play for "White Palace," a movie released last year starring Susan Sarandon. In that story, Sarandon plays an older wait ress who becomes involved with a younger, upper class man. From Hollywood to Con gress: John B. The coalition has published (Continued On Back Page) Miller Finishes Second In State Ricky Miller of Polk County finished second in the North Carolina championship wrest ling finals Saturday in Chapel Hill. Miller, who wrestled in the 112-pound weight class, lost by decision to Phil Carlton of Mount Pleasant. Accident Injures Two In Pea Ridge Tanya Nelon was discharged from St. Luke's Hospital Tues day morning, four days after being seriously injured in an accident. According to N.C. Highway Patrol officer Pat Staggs, Nelon was injured Friday afternoon at the intersection of Fowler Road and Hwy. 108, just east of Pea Ridge Baptist Church. Nelon, driving a 1988 Nissan, attempted to turn left onto Fowler and turned right into the path of Terry Mills, who was driving a 1988 Chevrolet truck headed in the opposite direction. Nelon, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was seriously injured, Staggs said. Mills, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated and released. Nelon was charged with unsafe movement and a seat- belt violation, Staggs said.
