Overeaters Anonymous Meets Each Thursday Overcaters Anonymous, a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience and mutual support, arc recovering from compulsive overeating, will meet each Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church Morgan Cen ter on Hwy. 108 in Tryon. Fred Harvey Frederick P. Harvey Frederick P. Harvey, 71, died in his sleep aboard the ms Noordam. He was born Feb. 8, 1920 in Syracuse, N.Y. He attended Nottingham High School where he was editor of the school paper. In 1942 he was graduated magna cum laude from Syra cuse University with a BS in Journalism and Political Science. He then received a BS in Electronic Physics from Syracuse and continued study at Harvard and MIT prior to serv ing in the CBI theater as captain in the Signal Corps, in World War II. After the war he worked for the Citizens' Public Expenditure Survey in Albany, N.Y. before entering the advertising world with Sylvania Electronics in Boston and New York. He subsequently worked for Fuller and Smith and Ross, Donahue (Continued On Back Page) O. P. Earle Art On Display Students from 0. P. Earle Elementary School have on display at the Landrum Branch Library various artwork done under the direction of art teacher, Sherri Hoover. Sixth graders Mindy Cham pion, Luke Pauley, Steven Yon, Cassie Hyder, Travis Ormand, and Christopher Landrum, have made colorful and dramatic looking dragons in paper- macho. Fifth graders Tola Sun, Amber Smith, Tim Ballew, Tammy Edwards, Rachel Moore, and Angie Lawrence have woven bright, festive pen nants. Three artists. Josh Pryor and Tim Ballew, both 5th graders, and Kimberly Walker, 3rd grade, have strong, vibrant paintings on display that show great promise and talent. All these students are talented and creative and deserve sup port.
