Georgia Bonesteel of Hend ersonville was the subject of a Charlotte Observer feature recently. The 120-page, hard- bound book will be out this fall. A project of the Tryon Ther mal Belt Chamber of Com merce, the books are being sold prior to publication. About 20 people are working in every corner of the Thermal Belt area to root out the best photographs of the area's his tory - right up to today. Greene of Tryon, was graduated in December from Gardner-Webb. 16 Pages Today 20C Per Copy Jaycees Schedule Walk-A-Thon A Walk-A-Thon to benefit cystic fibrosis research efforts will be held on April 7 at Scrivens Road beginning at 1 p.m. The Polk County Jaycees, sponsors of the event, are par ticularly excited about the rcseach efforts going on. Scien tists in 1989 discovered the gene which causes cystic fibro sis. Last year, researchers cor rected defective cells in labora tory dishes. "The pace of research has increased considerably," said Frank House, the chairman of the local event. Each person who collects $35 will earn at Foundation t-shirt.
