In the continuing saga of nat ural oddities, Van V. Dye of Columbus brought out a walk ing stick he owns last week for our inspection. It has a face on the handle. Mr. Dye collects walking sticks as a hobby. His collection consists of 400 sticks from 12 different states, one from Canada and one from Portugal. Carpenter released informa tion which may help those interested in getting jobs or contracting business in connec tion with the estimated 100 billion dollar task of rebuilding war-ravaged Kuwait. "There’s been a lol of talk about the massive effort it's going to take to rebuild Kuwait, and our office has been asked by many in the district how the} might become involved," Car penter staled." The Kuwaili government says it will favor U.S. companies as it begins its rebuilding program. According to information received by Carpenter’s office from Sen. Helm's office in Washington, the Dept, of Com merce has established the Gulf Reconstruction Center to serve as an information clearinghouse for businesses. The Center number is: 202-377-5767.
