_ The weather Thursday: high
'6, low 59, hum. 66 percent. By
7 a.m. Friday 1.35 inches of
rain had fallen. There were
tornado watches in effect and
some light flooding was
reported in Columbus.
Awhile back we reported that
area listeners were disappointed
when WSPA Radio dropped its
"easy listening." One area lis
tener wrote to Larry Alverson,
general manager of WSPA, and
here's what he had to say:
"WSPA-FM has changed to
an adult music format of the
90s. LITE FM 98.9 is adult
oriented music, a format pre
senting the best soft contempo
rary hits blended to satisfy an
adult audience. I am sorry your
.ire dissatisfied with the lack of
instrumentals, but as they
become more difficult to find
and less popular to listen to, we
must progress with the times."
These young whipper snap-
pers just keep changing every
thing, don't they?
A new Habitat house will be
dedicated at 2 p.m. Sunday,
April 7. The home of the Santos
Contreras is at 350 Spivey
