N C 28782 Lanford Running For Crippled Children As one of North Carolina's top high school cross country athletes, Wolverine runner Cliad Lanford has been selected to participate in the Shrine Bowl Game Ball Run. The run, a relay of the official Shrine Bowl football, will be held on Dec. 13, the day before the annual North Carolina/ South Carolina all-star football game. It will begin at the Greensboro Oriental Shrine Club and will conclude at Charlotte Memorial Stadium. Each of the 33 runners will run a 2-3 mile leg of the relay. As a Shrine Bowl Game Ball runner, Lanford will be saluted at the Shrine Bowl Awards Banquet and will receive a spe cial warm-up jacket. He will also be a guest at the football game and may ride on the run- ers float in the pre-game par ade. —Community Reporter Communication Dear Jeff: The Smith-Kennedy trial reminds us of the famous case in the 20's when the state of Florida reversed its laws twice in one year. Poller Joins Mental Health Staff Jane Leone Poller has recently joined the staff of the Polk Mental Health Center. Poller will be working with children, adolescents and families as a clinical therapist and an in- home service specialist. Poller received an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and an M.S.W. from Syracuse University. She completed her doctoral coursework at Colum bia University where she was an Exxon and Sara Sturtevant fel lowship recipient. Prior to her move to western North Carolina, Poller was a family therapist at Family Ser vices Associates in Syracuse.
