N C 28782 Juvenile Charged At approximately 5:30 p.m. Jan. 8, an 11 year old juvenile from Landrum was charged with the burglary at Whites Auto in Landrum, and the petty larceny of a .77 caliber pellet gun valued at $40. Mark Price of the Landrum Water Department and Bruce Cogdcll, Captain of the Lan drum Rescue Squad, observed the juvenile inside of the busi ness, and called the police department. Quick response by Officer Roger Janney and Lt. Terry Ducker resulted in the immediate apprehension and recovery of the stolen property. While interviewing the juve nile, with his parents, informa tion was revealed leading to the recovery of an additional $400 in stolen property that was hid den in the woodline off of Bomar Avenue in Landrum. Tlie juvenile will be referred to the Department of Youth Ser vices for adjudication and was released to the custody of his parents. x^bic* Gary Laughter praised Mr. Price and Mr. Cogdell for their alertness and quick response in notifying the police department.
