N.C 28782 Financial Aid Workshop Thursday A financial aid workshop will be held in the Landrum High School Library on Thurs., Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. All students and their parents are invited to attend. The purpose of this workshop is to help all students and parents learn about ways to finance the student's college education. Financial aid officers from the University of SC at Spartanburg, Wofford College, Spartanburg Methodist College, and Spartanburg Technical College will present a program on financial aid. The reps will talk about financial aid, in gen eral, but will be available to talk with parents individually. The public is invited. —Community Reporter American Legion Holds Contest Polk County Memorial Post 250 held its annual Oratorical Contest at Polk Central and it was won by Anthony Womack for the second time. He will be competing in the District Con test later this month. Those of us who witnessed Anthony's presentation both this year and last are amazed at the growth in both delivery and content of his talk. Hopefully this year he will reach a higher spot by winning the Divisional title and be able to compete in the States Department Contest which will be held in Lenior on Feb. 29th. Winning prints from the Annual Print Contest will be on display from January 27 through Feb. 6. —Community Reporter 2uc Per op' Video Series At Tryon Presbyterian The Tryon Presbyterian Church is having a viewing of a video series on Luke. The tapes have been prepared by James A. Sanders, a noted theological historian who is president of the Ancient Biblical Manuscript Center for the preservation and research of Biblical material. He is also a professor of inter- teslimcntal and Bible studies at Charcmont School of Theology. The tapes are shown on Sun days at 9:45 a.m. in the persim mon room of the church. The Presbyterian Church would like to share and to give the oppor tunity to view this program with all who arc interested. There are six tapes remaining in this series.
