Mack D. Fagan, 76, of 792
Reidsville Road, Spartanburg
died March 31, 1992, in Spar
tanburg Regional Medical Cen
ter.
A native of Polk County,
he was the husband of Sybil’
Cromer Fagan and son of the
late James Walter and Dezzie
McDowell Fagan. He was a
member and former deacon of
Park Hills Baptist Church and
was a retired associate manager
with Life of Virginia Insurance
Co. He was a member of
Masonic Lodge No. 333 and
served with the Army during
World War II. He was a gradu
ate of Green Creek High
School, Gardner-Webb Col
lege, and attended North Caro
lina State University.
Also surviving arc two
daughters, Dr. Maxine Carr of
Orlando, Fla., and Deb Winans
of Palatka, Fla.; a son, Gregory
Walter Fagan of Baltimore,
Md.; two brothers, Kyle Fagan
and Floyd Fagan of Green
Creek; a sister, Esther Cox of
Spartanburg; three grandsons
and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 7
to 9 tonight at Floyd's Green
lawn Chapel. Services will be at
11 a.m. today at the funeral
chapel by the Revs. Grady
Cline, Jack Weaver and Monty
King. Burial will be in Nazareth
Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to Park Hills
Baptist Church Building Fund,

he was the son of the late Wil
liam B. and Ada Ue Hancock
He was a veteran of WWII hav
ing served in the U.S. Navy
aboard the U.S.S. Bunker Hill.
Mr. Hancock was very instru
mental in starting the Little
Teague Baseball program in
Folk County after moving here
in 1939 from High Point, N.C.
He was a member of the Tryon
United Methodist Church.
Surviving beside his wife: one
son, Andy Hancock of Buford,
GA.; two sisters, Nancy Louise
Hancock and Elsie Ratliff both
of Wadesboro, N.C.
Funeral services will be held
at 11 a.m. Friday, in the
McFarland Funeral Chapel with
Rev. Don Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Polk Memo
rial Gardens in Columbus.
Family to receive friends from
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday
night (tonight) in the McFarland
Funeral Chapel.
