Mr. Carman has concertized in the U.S., Canada and Mexico and the Netherlands and has appeared on PBS and Nation al Public Radio as a guest artist with the Juilliard Quartet. He studied with Leonard Rose and in addition to performing act ivities, he is Chairman of the String Department at Michigan State University and Director of the Meadowmount School of Music. Eric Larsen has appeared in Tryon as a solo pianist and has been heard in concert halls of Russia, Europe, South America and the U.S. He has done research of the Edvard Grieg Manuscript Collection in the Bergen, Norway Bibliotek. A current association with the Moscow Conservatory has led to concerts and master classes at that institution and engage ments at the International Chamber Music Festival. He is currently a member of the Artist Faculty of the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Meadowmount School. Tlie Meadowmount Summer Music Festival was organized by Ivan Galamian, noted viol inist and teacher at Juilliard. His widow wanted a performance group to representative the fes tival and the Meadowmount Trio was chosen as that group. Two Murder Cases On Court Docket There will be a full docket next week when Criminal Superior Court meets in special session in Polk County starting Monday, April 6th. Judge Forrest Ferrell will preside over several highly- publicized cases connected with murder charges. James Edward Jaynes of Union Mills and Shane Michael Smith of Rutherfordton arc both scheduled to be tried on charges of murder, first degree burglary and arson in connection with the 1990 death of Paul Frederick Acker. Acker was killed and his mobile home set on fire on October 10,1990. In connection with the same case, Daniel Charles Marr is charged with being an accessory before the fact and Wanda Carolyn Man is charged with being an accessory after the fact. Frankie Dean McFalls of Columbus is also scheduled to be tried on charges of murder in connection with the death of Angelia Louise Brown on October 17, 1991. McFalls confessed to the murder of his common law wife when he was arrested in January of this year.
