"I cannot stress enough the importance of parents coming to one of these registration ses sions," said Principal Gerald Eubanks. The well has been in use just over a week. The new well is definitely an asset, said Town Administrator Butch Smith. So far the well has only had to run three hours a day, though the town has not hit the peak season for water demand yet, Smith said. Columbus's water source from the waterfall on White Oak Mountain will now be the town's backup water supply, the mayor said. Columbus no longer needs to purchase water from the Town of Tryon, he added. "Everyone on Blanton Street is tickled to death with the water pressure," manager Smith said. C.
