Hospital Radiology Coverage Unchanged Physician coverage in the Radiology Department at St. Luke's Hospital will not change when Richard Gentry, MD leaves at the end of the month, according to hospital president Tom Bradshaw. "We have contracted with Hendersonville Radiological Consultants, a group of six radiologists, to provide physi cian coverage in the Radiology Department," explained Brad shaw. "A radiologist will be in the department each weekday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., just as Dr. Gentry is now. During the times a physician is not in the department, hospital personnel will be able to transmit images, via teleradiology equipment, to the radiologist in Henderson ville. A radiologist will be available for consultation after normal working hours should the need arise." The St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary contributed $20,000 to cover the hospital's cost for the new equipment. The new teleradiology equipment will capture video images, digitize the images and transmit them to a computer. The computer will reconstruct the images on a television in Hendersonville. The radiologists can view the images and call St. Luke's Hos pital with a report. The six new radiologists who arc joining the medical staff at St. Luke's Hospital are: Martin L. Black, MD; John E. Caldc- meyer, MD; William M. Chandler, MD; Ronald R. Liljcdahl, MD; R. Kendall Shelton, MD; and Robert Scharstcin, MD. William C. Spencer, MD, a local radiologist also will help provide coverage at St. Luke's Hospital. -Community Reporter Foothills Bridge The Foothills Duplicate Bridge Club met Thursday, April 2nd at Tryon Youth Cen ter, results were as follows: 1st Dick Bandler and Pat Lehner; 2nd Sally Jo Carter and Dot Paulsell; 3rd Jeanette White and Ruth McNichol.
