County will be holding Rabies
Clinics at various locations in
the county. These clinics are
sold for your convenience, so
'lease take advantage of them.
'Already several warnings
^ave been written for not hav-
ng proof of valid rabies vacci
nations. I will be checking all
over the county for this viola
tion and warnings will be writ
ten, for now.
It is a state law that every dog
and cat four months old and
older must have a rabies vacci
nation. The threat of rabies is
greater now than in the past few
years, so it is important to com
ply with this law. Also, state
law states that it is illegal for
anyone, except a licensed vet
erinarian to possess the vaccine.
So your pet must be vaccinated
by a licensed veterinarian.
Each clinic location will be
staffed by veterinarians from
Polk County. The cost for a
rabies vaccination is only $5 at
the clinic. So, protect your pet
and yourself by taking advan
tage of the clinic in your area.
Remember, protection is less
expensive and less painful than
the cure.
If you choose not to take your
pet to one of the clinic locations
and it has not been vaccinated,
please contact a veterinarian of
your choice and get the vacci-
