New Computers For Special Education The entire Special Education staff of Polk County Schools spent a day in March learning to generate instructional and behavioral objectives from seven Dell lap-top computers recently purchased for use in the schools. Leading the intensive training session at Stearns Education Center in Columbus were George Dhioriss, President of Learning Systems, Inc., and Terry McEntire, Director of Exceptional Children's Programs. Working with new "IEP Writer" software while Dhioriss looks on at right are, from left: Bo Attwood, Self- Contained Special Education teacher at Polk Central; Norma Mills, Preschool Handicapped teacher at the Jcrvey Palmer Building in Tryon; and Mallory Tedesco, Special Education teacher at Polk Central. Exchange Students At Tryon High Two exchange students received class rings along with their class- mates in the annual ring ceremony at Tryon High. Shown wearing his new ring at left is Sven Dominiak from Hamburg, Germany. Principal Johnnie Summers is at center. At riglit is Jaime Del Val Munoz, an AES student from Melilla, Spain, in Spanish Morocco. Both have been in the U.S. since the beginning of the school year.
